Course Name:

Fundamentals of Sheetmetal Design

Release Version:

2001

Description:

The Fundamentals of Sheetmetal Design course teaches the skills required in designing sheetmetal parts and assemblies, trouble shooting and creating production drawings. All functions needed to create sheetmetal parts, drawings and assemblies are covered in this hands-on course. The lesson modules are so structured as to maximize hands-on interaction with the Pro/SHEETMETAL module in Pro/ENGINEER. Each module builds incrementally on the knowledge acquired from the previous modules to create the cumulative effect of a logical and well-knit course. Students design "real world" parts and assemblies, with the instructor acting as a subject matter expert in the class. This course has two primary goals. Firstly, to provide the skills required in designing sheetmetal parts and assemblies along with generating production drawings. Secondly, to enable all users to apply the skills acquired in the class according to their company's design standards. Upon completion of this course students should be able to create sheet metal design models, create the flat state of the model and document both in a production drawing.
